Question: Describe your least favorite
character and explain why. Describe your most favorite character and explain
why.
I think my least favorite character in
the article is Maurice. Holden encounters him and for some unknown reasons, he
asks Maurice to get him a prostitute, which makes me sick. I mean, Holden has
his own faults, but Maurice just shouldn’t help him if he is a decent person.
But it turned out that he is not. After the prostitute came to Holden, Holden
didn’t do anything, but she still asked for ten bucks, which is five bucks more
than they negotiated. Holden didn’t accept her requirement, so Maurice came with
her to bully Holden and took and five bucks away. I think Maurice is a
representative of all the bad guys in the society.
My most favorite character in the book
will be absolutely Holden. As I said before, he is contradictory. He has
compassion for the nun, but he also did bad things, or I should say, tried to do
bad things. But it turned out he couldn’t do bad things. Aware of his sister, he
decided not to leave home, quits school, but had his unique dream to be a
catcher in the rye. I don’t know what to describe him, he is just special. And
I think that is why I like him.
